Data providers

CoinGecko and Binance power the live price data across Cointikka's tools. Checked separately from the tools themselves, since a provider hiccup doesn't necessarily mean a tool page is broken.

Understanding the statuses

What each badge means, and what to expect if you see it.

OPERATIONAL The tool loaded successfully and its page contained the expected content. It's working normally — nothing to do.
DEGRADED The tool's page itself loaded fine, but an external data source it depends on (like a live price feed) isn't responding normally. The tool still works — one feature inside it may be temporarily limited.
DOWN The tool didn't load correctly on the last check. A short error message appears under the tool explaining why — see the reference below for what each one means.

What each error code means

If a tool shows "Down," one of these short messages will appear underneath it.

HTTP status codes

  • HTTP 200 — expected content not found on page The page loaded successfully, but the specific text the checker looks for wasn't present. This usually means the page's wording changed, or something didn't render as expected.
  • HTTP 404 The page address couldn't be found — it may have been moved, renamed, or removed.
  • HTTP 403 The request was refused by the server before the page could load.
  • HTTP 500 / 502 / 503 A server-side error. The tool's hosting had a problem generating or returning the page.
  • HTTP 530 Cloudflare couldn't reach the origin for that address at all — typically a configuration or DNS-level issue rather than the page itself being broken.

Other messages

  • Timed out The page didn't respond within 15 seconds, so the check gave up rather than wait indefinitely.
  • Blocked by bot protection Cloudflare's own anti-bot system intercepted the check with a challenge page instead of the real page. This reflects the security check itself, not necessarily the tool being broken.

Why a status might flip back on its own

Every tool gets checked again automatically 2 minutes later. A single timeout or a brief hiccup often resolves itself before the next check — the checker also retries once immediately if the first attempt looks like a temporary issue, so a badge sometimes corrects itself within seconds without any action needed.
